This is the second book in the first series of stories about The Little Urban Fox exploring Sheffield. The book was inspired by foxes playing in the garden of local author Helen Stokes. Her sister, Kathryn Herold who is a local artist, illustrated the book. In this book we learn the story of Stumpy, The Little Urban Fox’s brother, and find out how he lost his tail. Following a competition held for local children about how this happened to Stumpy, Susan Sancho, from Dronfield was chosen as the winner. Susan features in the book and her story is included at the end.
Through this lovely children’s story book you will learn about the history of The Sheffield Botanical Gardens and will meet many new characters, including Pan, the Bear in the Bearpit, and Anthea the Ant in the Marnock Gardens.
At the end of the story you fill find a map which you can use to follow The Little Urban Fox on his adventures, non-fiction history pages and children’s entries into the competition.
